Surf Shack Opens This Weekend in Northern Colorado Springs

July 30, 2026

Colorado Springs is getting its own indoor surfing venue. Surf Shack, located in the city's Polaris Point area, opens to the public this Saturday, offering a rare chance to surf in a landlocked state and a solid training ground for those interested in Colorado's growing river surfing scene.

The 12,000-square-foot, two-story facility includes indoor surfing, a sauna, two outdoor sand volleyball courts, a patio with a hot tub, tiki-themed cocktails, and food service. The centerpiece is a "double" wave machine built by FlowRider, capable of accommodating two riders at once and handling up to 20 to 30 riders per hour.

For its opening weekend, Surf Shack will run on evolving hours, with a full grand opening planned for September. This Saturday, the venue will be open from noon to 9 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to book directly through the company's website ahead of time.

Pricing varies depending on experience level and amenities. Surfing sessions start at $40 for riders who have been approved for self-serve surfing, and $50 for those who want an instructor. Full spa access, including the hot tub and sauna, runs $30 per day.

Anyone curious about trying something new this weekend, or looking for a way to practice river surfing skills in a controlled environment, now has a new spot to check out on the north side of Colorado Springs.
